The winners of our Audit & Risk Awards will be revealed at a major event in London on Thursday 30 January 2020. A total of 33 teams and individuals have been shortlisted in seven award categories: Inspirational Leader, Best Use of Technology, Innovation in Training and Development, Outstanding Team – Financial Services Sector, Outstanding Team – Private Sector, Outstanding Team – Public Sector and Best Newcomer.
The Audit & Risk Awards celebrate excellence in internal auditing. The awards have been sponsored by PwC who are hosting the event in London Bridge. The 2020 ceremony theme, ‘Reimagining Internal Audit, is about the capacity for past achievements to influence future success.
The award ceremony follows the launch of our Internal Audit Code of Practice. The new Code has been written to help businesses better manage risks they face following recent high-profile collapses linked to governance deficiencies, including Carillion.
“The high standard of entries for the 2020 Chartered IIA Audit and Risk awards meant we have faced exceptionally tough decisions in deciding the seven winners. The submissions contained a number of innovative and exciting new approaches to internal audit across all the categories which made the judging a truly learning experience.
“I want to thank all of the teams and individuals who submitted an award application and congratulate the 33 who have been shortlisted. The awards highlight the excellence that internal auditors across the private and public sectors demonstrate every day as they support boards to manage risks.”
