There are two main ways you can join the Chartered IIA: as an affiliate or student member. Both give you access to our full range of membership benefits.
Below are a list of all the different memberships we offer.
Skip ahead to membership fees.
For those studying the Internal Audit Practitioner designation, the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification, the Chartered by Learning study route (CMIIA), as well as those undertaking an apprenticeship.
Join as an affiliate member if you're working in internal audit but are not yet planning to take our designations.
You should also join as an affiliate member if you want to take our modular training course, the IIA Certificate, or apply to be Chartered by Experience.
The two main routes for affiliate membership are outlined below.
If you are part of a team of ten or more internal auditors, group membership could be for you. Your organisation will save money and time by signing up the whole team.
If you are head of an in-house internal audit function, the Institute has a dedicated networking service especially for you. You need to be a member to be eligible for Audit Leaders - you can join and apply at the same time.
If you're a Certified Internal Auditor joining the institute for the first time, you will become a 'voting member', which means you can vote at our AGM.
Once we've received your application, we will be in touch within three working days. Once payment has been received, we'll send your membership number and website login so you can start accessing your member benefits.
