The Scotland committee delivers a range of training sessions, seminars and workshops to Institute members in Scotland.
The committee works hard to keep its regional offering interesting and varied, with opportunities for learning, developing and networking, culminating in an exciting annual conference.

- Did you know that Ben Nevis – Scotland’s highest peak – boasts a weather forecasting stone at its base, used for predicting everything from tornadoes to earthquakes. There's a running joke that when the stone is wet there’s a chance of rain.
- Scotland is also home to the world’s shortest commercial flight, which runs from Westray to Papa Westray and takes a mere 47 seconds.

Meet the team
Graham Gillespie, Chair
Graham joined Wylie & Bisset as a Trainee in 2002 and has over 10 years' experience in providing internal audit services.
As Partner, he oversees a large portfolio of internal audit clients and works closely with senior management and boards to provide assurance and advisory reviews aimed at adding maximum value to the organisation. He's responsible for leading on special investigations for his clients and is a regular presenter at seminars on internal control and fraud.
Graham is Chair of the Chartered IIA's Scotland Committee and a member of the Fraud Advisory Panel.
Derek Jamieson – Regional Director, Scotland
As Regional Director, Derek's responsible for the overall development of the Scottish region and ensuring the appropriate support is provided for the membership.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered IIA, with over 25 years’ internal audit experience, and a career spanning some four decades.
During that time, he’s worked not only in financial services, but across multiple sectors, on both a national and international basis. He’s also worked for several years within the first and second lines of defence.
He is the past Chair of the Scotland committee and holds a non-executive directorship with a Financial Services organisation.
