They’re back! The Audit & Risk Awards are now in their fifth year and we are delighted to be working again in collaboration with PwC to make them bigger and better than ever.
As in previous years, details of all the winners and those who are highly commended will appear in a supplement in A&R, as well as on the Chartered IIA’s website and many will also be featured in articles over the following year. The winners will receive their awards at a reception hosted by PwC in London.
This year we have a new theme – “Reimagining Internal Audit” – and we want potential winners to focus not only on what they have done in the past, but also on how this sets them up to progress further in future. We want to see examples of what teams and individuals are doing to move the profession forward and help their organisations to deal with the challenges they will face in years to come.
All awards tend to be retrospective in nature, but there is little point introducing innovations and changes if these are not intended to help your team and profession support your organisation more effectively and efficiently in future. At a time when all organisations are facing uncertainty and emerging threats on a global scale, we want awards entrants to think about how the actions and changes they have put in place over the past year or two are helping to transform the audit service they can offer.
It can be hard to draw attention to the success of internal audit – few companies publicise “near miss” occasions when internal audit prevented a potential problem from becoming a serious crisis, or the superb internal audit processes, innovative planning or strategic advice given.
The Audit & Risk Awards are a unique opportunity to celebrate outstanding performances by teams and individuals, and to highlight innovative solutions to the challenges most audit teams face.
